چکیده
Multiple steps are involved in hematopoietic differentiation and maturation from multipotent progenitor cells to terminally differentiated cells of each lineage. The availability of recombinant growth factors and of various clonogenic precursor cell assays has provided useful information about hematopoietic precursors, notably of the myeloid lineage [13]. However, the direct evaluation of primitive human lymphohematopoietic progenitor cells has been hampered by their low frequency in normal donors and the difficulties involved in expanding them in in vitro culture [4, 5]. Therefore, little is known about the events and mechanisms that result in the irreversible commitment of multipotent uncommitted progenitors to a specific cell lineage. Leukemias have been traditionally used as a model for lymphohematopoietic development and have been studied extensively for the expression of differentia-

Mesenchymal Stem Cells Do Not Suppress Lymphoblastic Leukemic Cell Line Proliferation
Background: Several studies have demonstrated the immunosuppresive effects of mes-enchymal stem cells (MSCs) in allogeneic or mitogenic interactions. Cell-cell contact inhibition and secretion of suppressive soluble factors have been suggested in this re-gard. Objective: To investigate if adipose derived MSCs could inhibit Jurkat lym-phoblastic leukemia T cell proliferation during coculture. Me...
متن کاملTHE EFFECT OF HYPERTHERMIA ON THE DIFFERENTIATION OF LEUKEMIC CELL LINES
Treatment of human promonocytic leukemic cell line U937 with mild hyperthermia in the temperature range of 40-43°C resulted in differentiation of these cells into monocyte/macrophage-like cells in a heat dose and time dependent manner. This process was accompanied by marked morphological, functional and proliferational changes. U937 cells which normally grow in supension in the logarithmic...
متن کاملCD38 MOLECULE-A MULTILINEAGE GLYCOPROTEIN AND ITS UNIQUE EXPRESSION ON PLASMA CELLS
A hybridoma clone designated 6G5 has been selected by fusion of mouse myeloma cell line Ag. 8653 with spleen cells from mice immunized with human peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC). The antibody produced by this clone was found to be strongly reactive with four human B-cell lines in the conventional immunological assays. Despite the fact that expression of most B cell-associated mar...
متن کاملMultilineage Differentiation Activity by the Human Umbilical Vein-Derived Mesenchymal Stem Cells
Background: Mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) are a very promising transplantable stem cell source for a variety of cell replacement therapies. As the main source of MSC is bone marrow (BM), most of studies have been done on BM-derived MSC (BM-MSC). Umbilical cord (UC)-derived MSC (UC-MSC) which are recently introduced, is one of the good alternative source for these cells. The objective of this stu...
متن کاملEstablishment and erythroid differentiation of a cytokine-dependent human leukemic cell line F-36: a parental line requiring granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor or interleukin-3, and a subline requiring erythropoietin.
We have established a new nonlymphoid leukemic cell ine from a patient with myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS), which progressed to overt leukemia. The parental cell line and a subline derived from this line have absolute dependency on several cytokines for their long-term survival and growth. The parental line designated F-36P requires granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF) or i...
